STARBUCKS GRAND OPENING THIS WEEKEND

Open for Business! James Lick High School student Lizete Carapinha(center) and friends are among the first customers this morning at the new Starbucks at the corner of Alum Rock and White. Manager Farrah Myers says the coffee house had a soft opening Thursday, but is planning a grand opening this weekend with free samples. (photo by Julie Ramirez)

Very nice Starbucks. The staff is very friendly and we know each other by name. They are fun to be around and have a great attitudes. Parking has not been an issue and I have been going 4 days a week since they opened. It's fun when school gets out as the students come in for frappaccino's and just kick it. This is what The Alum Rock Village needs to enliven the shopping experience!

Glad to see a Starbucks there, and now James Lick Memorial Stadium has permanent lights. Wonder what the neighbors think of that, thay fought it for years.
